Where dows our yak hair come from?
The buffalo hair comes from the Tibetan buffalo – the yak – who lives in Tibet and Nepal as a domestic and beast of burden is kept. The tail and belly hairs are available in the colours white and black. Tail hairs are available till 60 cm, belly hairs till 25 cm.
The belly hair is the finer quality. The yak hair is going up chemical way “diluted”, that is thinned, in which the cuticle of the hair is chemically peeled off and washed off, so they can not tangle. This makes it better process and better to beautiful style.
While earlier this hair was much used for the so-called Yak-Angora-Blend for barber master exam wigs and showcase wigs, it will today for wigs of theater, film and television processed. Wonderful rococo wigs in white or delicate pastel colours arise from yak hair and are the visual highlight of many Mozart operas
The hair can be knotted and wefted excellent and is still after many performances effective. Santa Claus beards and wigs made of yak hair are especially beautiful and delight the owner and the children’s hearts over many years
